Town Hall 7 - Farming

At last! Dragons, Heroes, and Dark Elixer. Town Hall 7 begins to get increasingly more difficult, though not too bad. During this level you'll find that less people are neglecting their bases and good loot becomes harder to find. Since you won't have a Dark Elixer drill getting the Barbarian King will take quite a while. That said, once you start upgrading your defenses you should be able to get into the Gold League quite easily and comfortably.

Below are several charts on the available buildings at Town Hall 7. They show some very valuable information. Please always double check the wiki to make sure these values are up-to-date. The graphic I use to represent each building in my layout is also shown on the far right.

Layout / Base Perimeter
I used this base for the majority of my Town Hall 7 career. The main goal of this base is to protect your resources. It worked exactly as it was supposed to, providing a cheap shield for almost 90 to 95% of my defended attacks. Even when someone did decide to attack the whole base it was rare that they took much of anything. Only level 5 or 6 troops fared well enough to get any considerable loot from my Storages.

Note: By now you should be have made it to 1250 trophies. If not you should push to get your third/fourth builder. I have four shown here because that's what I had during this stage of the game. If you still don't have this many you can remove them from the top port of the base as necessary. The two located at the bottom are there for strategic purposes.

Trap Placement
There are no Funneling Channels in this base, at least in the normal context of how I design them. Instead there is a massive funneling layer surrounding the whole base. Obviously Wall Breakers can break through to the Storages but they have to use extra. When they don't deploy as intended Giants will just walk around the outside layer of the inner base, away from the Mortars and Wizard Towers.

I've placed Teslas on the corners as they are the most likely entrance to get to the Air Defenses. There are also Spring Traps nearby for unsuspecting Giants that try to take it out.

Mortar Coverage
This is near perfect triangulation of the Mortars. Each one covers two others while also protecting resources and most of your defenses. They also provide triple coverage for the Dark Elixer, which is completely necessary as you won't have any Dark Elixer Drills until Town Hall 8.

Wizard Tower Coverage
I hate to overuse the word, but these are perfectly placed as well. They provide coverage for every mortar as well as coverage for the Air Defense and Storages. You'll notice that your precious Dark Elixer is double covered as well.

Cannon Coverage
The Cannons circle the base as best as possible with the number of walls available. I played with various placements for several hours before settling on this one. They cover a vast number of important buildings throughout the base. The ones on the bottom of the base are meant to be mean to incoming attacks as they pound troops all the way through the outer layer inside the base.

Archer Tower Coverage
The Archer Towers fill the holes for the Cannons. Their range helps cover the middle of the base where all the resources are located.

Air Defense Coverage
What's really nice about this base is the extra wall between the Air Defense and incoming troops. It provides a nice buffer against those wanting to use Dragons or Giant/Healer combos. The Air Defenses cover almost all of the base's important buildings for farming.

Clan Castle Reinforcements / Hero Defense
Before I got the Barbarian King I actually had the Clan Castle at the top of the base and a filler Spell Factor where the Clan Castle is now. This worked but not nearly as well as it's shown below. The main problem was that anytime someone attacked the Town Hall for an easy star my Clan Castle troops would deploy. This turned out to be a waste. They would always have more than enough troops to overtake them since they didn't plan on attacking the rest of the base.  Once I put my Hero up top, wasted troops went away while the Barbarian King provided a nice little distraction for my attacker.  Got to make them work a little for it, right?
