Town Hall 8 - Trophy Hunting

Town Hall 8! Getting closer to that final goal. There's not a lot of additional things here but you finally have access to Golems and Valkyries. Those are some pretty strong dark troops. You also get your Dark Elixer Drill. Yay! No more being forced to farm for Dark Elixer...well mostly.

Below are several charts on the available buildings at Town Hall 8. They show some very valuable information. Please always double check the wiki to make sure these values are up-to-date. The graphic I use to represent each building in my layout is also shown on the far right.

Layout / Base Perimeter
DISCLAIMER: This base has not been tested by any of the Shucked clan members.

This base took me a while to design.  I had a hard time trying to find a way to protect the Town Hall as well as the rest of your resources. As usual, sacrifices have to be made somewhere and here it was the Air Defense. I have a plan, though it needs to be tested more. Regardless, I feel this base should protect well.

Note: By now you should be have made it to 1250 trophies. If not you should push to get your third/fourth builder. I have four shown here because that's what I had during this stage of the game. If you still only have two you can remove the two near the center of the base next to the Cannons.

Trap Placement
Most of your traps, bombs at least, have been placed near the bottom. My goal here was to eliminate any threat attacking from the bottom. The Air Defenses need to be protected and in the event that they are taken out there needs to be a backup plan. The Giant Bombs are there to do their thing.

The Tesla at the bottom of the base. I placed Army camps in front of it so that wall Breakers have a long way to travel to blow up walls. In the meantime, while they are running, the Tesla should be able to take them out. The other Teslas on the sides are there to protect the buildings in their diameter.

Mortar Coverage
The Mortars are oriented in a way that provides triple coverage for your Town Hall.  They also provide double coverage on your Dark Elixer Storage and splash damage in between the outer walls and their compartments.

Wizard Tower Coverage
The Wizard Towers cover all your Storages and the two Mortars up top. They also provide excellent splash damage to any air troops attacking from the top, hence why all the Air Bombs are at the bottom.

Cannon Coverage
Because the Air Defense at the top is so exposed, and for good reason, there are more Archer Towers at the top of the base. Because of this, the Cannons are mostly placed near the bottom where the Air Defenses are better protected behind multiple layers of walls.

Archer Tower Coverage
As was mentioned in the Cannon section, the Archer Towers are placed at the topmost section of the base to provide extra Air Defense (in combination with the Wizard Towers) to the more exposed part of the base to flying troops.

There's also a fun little trap placed here. If you look at the Barracks you will notice there is a single space where attacking troops can be placed. You will also notice that this is completely in the range of the Archer Towers. I did this on purpose. 1) To lure Giants into the Funneling Channel and 2) to take out Archers placed in this tiny square. All of the non-defense buildings are placed around this area on purpose. If someone puts a bunch of Archers down here most of them will focus on these buildings while the Archer Towers take them out. That's the idea, at least.

Air Defense Coverage
As mentioned above, the Air Defense was placed here to lure Giants away from the bottom of the base. It's also to lure flying units into the death trap of four Archer Towers and three Wizard Towers, which in my opinion is more deadly than the single Air Defense.

Clan Castle Reinforcements / Hero Defense
The Barbarian King and Clan Castle is placed in the center so that they provide coverage for the majority of your base.
